Nasone Pizzeria & Bar

Every great restaurant has a story worth telling, and Nasone Pizzeria and Bar at Golden Beach has one of the most genuine on the Sunshine Coast. Roman-born chef Daniele and his wife Jessica arrived in Australia in 2017 with a food trailer, a set of family recipes and a dream that would take nearly a decade of markets, weddings and private events to fully realise. When the doors opened at Golden Beach in early 2026, it was the culmination of everything that journey had built, and the community has responded exactly the way they hoped it would.

The name says a great deal about the philosophy. Nasone refers to the beloved public drinking fountains found on street corners throughout Rome, always running, always there for everyone, simple and honest. That is precisely what Jessica and Daniele set out to create: a place the Golden Beach community can rely on daily, not just for special occasions, a warm and genuine local with a story behind every dish and a team willing to share it.

The menu is rooted in authentic Roman tradition with the kind of personal touches that come from cooking the food you grew up eating. The Margherita Romana with pecorino romano is the benchmark dish, a demonstration of how beautiful simplicity can be when the ingredients are right. The carbonara and amatriciana pizzas bring the iconic sauces of Rome to the pizza base in a way that feels entirely natural, and the signature Nasone pizza topped with Italian sausage and finocchiona salami is bold, generous and full of the character that defines the kitchen. Beautiful antipasti and a broader menu of traditional Italian flavours round out an offering that earns its place on the Sunshine Coast dining scene without question.

Located off Jellicoe Street in Golden Beach and open Tuesday through Saturday, Nasone also continues to operate its catering arm for weddings and private events. Bookings and online ordering are available through the website.

Tredici Woodfired Pizza

There are few things more satisfying than a pizza that comes out of a wood-fired oven and lands on the table still crackling with heat, and at Tredici on Tay Avenue, that is exactly what you are getting. A classic Italian in the heart of Caloundra that has built its reputation on fresh dough, quality ingredients and the kind of smoky, charred crust that only a proper woodfired oven can produce. The name means thirteen in Italian, and this is a venue that takes its heritage seriously without ever taking itself too seriously.

The pizza menu covers the traditional bases with confidence: Margherita, Capricciosa, Pepperoni and Meat Lovers sit alongside more creative options including a Tandoori Chicken that has developed a following of its own, and a Pumpkin and Fetta that earns its place on the menu every week. The pasta dishes match the pizzas in quality, with the carbonara and the chilli prawn spaghetti drawing consistent praise from regulars who have worked their way through the menu more than once. The calamari and bruschetta garlic pizza are the entrees most people wish they had ordered two of.

The setting is warm and relaxed in the way that good Italian restaurants tend to be: brick walls, wooden furniture, the smell of the oven in the air and an outdoor area that catches the Sunshine Coast sea breeze on a warm evening. It is a genuinely comfortable place to sit for a couple of hours, whether you are with family, a group of friends or a date who you want to impress without making the whole thing feel like too much of an occasion.

Located at 11 Tay Avenue in Caloundra, Tredici is fully licensed with BYO wine also available, gluten-free options on hand, and takeaway for those who want the woodfired experience from their own couch. Open for dinner and available for bookings via the website.

Pan O Vino

Pan O Vino on Landsborough Parade in Golden Beach is a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that holds the evening dining scene together for one of Caloundra’s most residential and community-focused precincts. The menu covers both the classic options and those with a little more spice and character, with a range of pastas, pizzas, main meal options and salads that gives the whole table something to work with. Everything is made to order, which reflects a genuine commitment to freshness over convenience and is the reason the food delivers on its promise visit after visit.

Venice Gourmet Pizza, Pasta and Ribs

Venice Gourmet Pizza, Pasta and Ribs is a Caloundra dinner staple with a devoted local following built on consistently great Italian-influenced cooking at prices that make a regular visit entirely reasonable. Located on Moreton Parade, it is the kind of neighbourhood restaurant that every suburb needs and not every suburb is lucky enough to have.

The handcrafted gourmet pizzas are the headline act, with thoughtful toppings and a base that reflects genuine attention to the dough. The pasta dishes bring the same level of care to the Italian classics, and the slow-cooked ribs round out a menu that has something for every table, whether the group has arrived with a particular craving or is happy to let the kitchen guide the decision.

The evening-focused kitchen creates a dinner destination feel that suits the food perfectly. Running Tuesday through Sunday from 4pm, with a Friday lunch service for those who plan ahead, it strikes the right balance between accessible and considered without tipping into fussy territory.

Takeaway is available for those nights when the couch is calling but the standard of the cooking is not something you are willing to compromise on. Rated 4.2 stars and consistently recommended by Caloundra locals as a reliable go-to for a quality Italian meal.
