Beachtree Distilling Co is one of the most remarkable stories in Australian craft spirits, and it happens to be based right here in Caloundra. Founded by Steve Grace, a Kamilaroi man and master distiller, and his partner Kirra Daley, Beachtree has achieved what most distilleries only dream about: twice named World’s Best Craft Producer (2024 and 2025) and World’s Best Sustainable Distillery (2025) by the World Spirits Alliance.
Operating from a solar-powered distillery at 14 Industrial Avenue, Caloundra West, Beachtree produces a range of organic gins, vodka, rum, liqueurs and Australia’s only certified organic whisky. Everything starts with sustainably sourced organic sugarcane rather than grains, resulting in a naturally gluten-free, additive-free base that is then infused with native Australian botanicals including lemon myrtle, finger lime, strawberry gum and pepperberry. Indigenous harvesters and growers are involved directly in the supply chain.
Skippy Gin won gold at the 2023 International Wine and Spirit Competition, building on a double gold at the New York World Spirits Competition the year prior. The You Sip, We Plant initiative has contributed to over 25,000 trees planted to date.
The cellar door is open for tastings, gin flights, cocktails, grazing platters and bottle sales. A vibrant industrial warehouse space with room for functions and events.
