STEPS Café on George is unlike any other café in Caloundra, and that is exactly the point. Situated at 9 George Street on the STEPS Pathways College campus, this not-for-profit café is open to the public and operated by young adults with disabilities and autism as part of a structured workplace skills and hospitality training programme.
Every coffee, meal and sweet treat purchased directly funds the programme and contributes to a brighter future for the students running the café floor. The kitchen produces fresh, made-on-site meals, snacks and a rotating selection of cakes, slices and biscuits, alongside a full menu of hot and cold beverages powered by beans from Zarraffa's Coffee Caloundra.
The café is set within beautiful gardens on the STEPS campus, with ample parking, outdoor seating among lush greenery and a genuinely warm atmosphere that regulars return to again and again. Group bookings and catering are available.
A visit here is both a good coffee stop and a meaningful act of community support.
Open Monday to Friday 8am to 2pm. Closed weekends and public holidays.
