Parked on the walkway adjoining BIG4 Caloundra just beyond the Coast Guard building, this mint blue espresso van sits at one of the most quietly spectacular spots in Caloundra — with views across the Pumicestone Passage toward Bulcock Beach and the kind of morning serenity that a café on Bulcock Street simply cannot replicate.
The coffee is locally roasted specialty, taken seriously in the way that makes a difference between a good morning walk and a great one. Alongside it, a selection of fantastic smoothies, savoury and sweet snacks and treats keeps the offering honest and accessible, with a Saturday morning breakfast run from 7am to 10am for those who want something more substantial to go with the view. The puppacino situation is well catered for too, which the dog-walking crowd of Caloundra has noted and appreciated.
The Brews and Beats free family-friendly event is a regular fixture that has built its own following, turning the walkway into a community gathering point on weekend mornings with music, coffee and the Pumicestone Passage doing what it does best in the background. It is the kind of low-key, genuinely local event that Caloundra does better than anywhere else on the Sunshine Coast.
