Coffee Cat on Kings Beach occupies one of the finest dining positions on the entire Sunshine Coast. Positioned at Shop 4, 8 Levuka Avenue, there is literally no road between you and the waves. You sit among pandanus trees with Kings Beach stretching out in front of you, and that alone earns it a visit before the coffee even arrives.
By day it is a relaxed, fully licensed café serving breakfast and lunch seven days with a generous menu that runs from the classics through to more adventurous plates. Standouts include eggs benedict with house-made hollandaise, a Spanish omelette with garlic prawns and sautéed chorizo, sautéed wild garlic mushrooms on seeded rye with truffle oil and pecorino, Buddha bowls, loaded nachos, burgers and fresh juices. The kitchen caters thoughtfully for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.
By night the Cat transforms, with dinner on Thursday through Sunday and live music that has made it one of Kings Beach’s most beloved evening destinations. The cocktail menu is built for the setting. Sunday roast beachside is a local institution.
